PROGRAMS
The Cheetah Program is run in three distinct sessions.
Session #1 - September to November – Cross Country/Learn to Run (2014-2017)
Through a fun based education incorporating drills, games, running, and strength and agility, this program will focus on the fundamentals of running efficiencies. The group will have the opportunity to compete at two cross country meets including Cross Country Provincial Championships.

- North Group
- September 8th, 2025 to November 3rd,2025 (Twice per Week)
- Monday 5:45-7:00 – Canmore Park
- Wednesday 5:45-7:00 Confederation Park
- South Group
- Date: September 9th, 2025 to November 4th, 2025 (Twice per Week)
- Tuesday 5:45 -7:00 North Glenmore Park – Parking Area D
- Thursday 5:45-7:00 North Glenmore Park - Parking Area D
Cost:
- $210.00 for the session plus a $70.00 Mandatory Athletics Alberta Fee (AA fee is payable once per year. Once paid it is transferable to Cheetah Session #2 and #3)
Additional Costs:
- Entry fees to track meets (only payable if athlete competes)
- Caltaf competition Shirt/Singlet. Athletes must wear one of either Long Sleeved Black Performance T-shirt (free to the athlete) or Caltaf Singlet ($65.00)
- Other Caltaf clothing is available for purchase at the Caltaf UR Store.
In January, those athletes born in 2013 will transition to our Junior Development Group. Please contact the Caltaf Office for more information.
Session #2 - Indoor Track and Field – Ages 8-11 ( 2015-2018)
This program will focus on learning the fundamentals of running, jumping and throwing using age-appropriate progressions. The program will be held indoors. Through a fun and active learning environment, skills learned in this program will create a strong foundation for success in both Track and Field and other sports and physical activities. This program will have several opportunities to compete at track and field meets in Calgary. Athletes will have the opportunity to compete at Alberta Indoor Provincial Championships in Edmonton as well as several Calgary meets.
Date:
- January 7th, 2026, to March 14th, 2026 (twice per week)
Time:
- Wednesday 7:00-8:15 pm- Mount Royal University
- Saturday 1:30pm – 3:00 pm – MNP Center
Cost:

Session #3 - Outdoor Track and Field – Ages 8-11 (2015-2018)
This program will focus on learning the fundamentals of running, jumping and throwing using age-appropriate progressions. The program will be held outdoors. Through a fun and active learning environment, skills learned in this program will create a strong foundation for success in both Track and Field and other sports and physical activities. This program will have several opportunities to compete at track and field meets in Calgary including the Caltaf Track Classic.

- April 13, 2026 to June 22nd, 2026 (twice per week)
- Monday 6:30-8:00 pm – Foothills Athletic Park
- Wednesday 6:30-8:00 pm – Foothills Athletic Park
- April 13, 2026 to June 22nd, 2026 (twice per week)
- South Group
- April 14, 2026 to June 23rd, 2024 (twice per week)
- Tuesdays from 6:30-8:00pm – Glenmore Athletic Park
- Thursday 6:30-8:00 pm – Glenmore Athletic Park
Cost:
- $220.00 for the session plus a $55.00 Mandatory Athletics Alberta Fee (AA fee is payable once per year. Once paid it is transferable to Cheetah Session #2 or #3)

- Entry fees to track meets (only payable if athlete competes)
- Caltaf competition Shirt/Singlet. Athletes must wear one of either Short Sleeved Performance T-shirt (free to the athlete) or Caltaf Singlet ($65.00).
VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENT FOR ALL THOSE REGISTERED IN SESSION #3
Caltaf has instituted a volunteer requirement for each Cheetah Family. Each family will be required to volunteer either at the Cheetah Invitational (June) or at the Caltaf Track Classic (June) The volunteer requirement will need to be met whether your athlete competes in the meet or not. Shifts will be assigned on a first come first serve basis. If the volunteer requirement is not met by June 30, 2026, a $200.00 fee will be charged.
