Important Information for BC High School Athletes

The following is a BC School Sports rule regarding Kamloops Track and Field Club hosting this meet. There are some ramifications, and Kamloops Track and Field Club has met all of the criteria. This meet is sanctioned by both BC
School Sports and BC Athletics.

BCSS policy allows non-members to host events in any of our 18 sports, but the hosting group (post-secondary institution, individual or organizations) must obtain sanctioning to allow BCSS member schools to participate in the event. Without this,teams are ineligible to play or would be subject to penalty if they do. All sanctioned events will be listed on the BCSS website, so schools are aware that it has been sanctioned.

** Very Important for BC School Athletes. Each BC School Athlete must have been claimed this year by their school's Athletic Director on MileSplit. If a non-claimed athlete competes at this meet, he or she may be barred from competing in their 2025 Zone Championship meet and the 2025 BC High School Provincial Championship. Please confirm with your AD that you have been claimed by your school before registering for the Battle of the Border.

Alberta schools would have to have permission of their Provincial Sports Body to compete. They would have to contact BC School Sports to confirm that the meet has been sanctioned with them.

Volunteers are needed to ensure this event runs smoothly. Please register to volunteer below. (Kamloops Track and Field parents can count these hours toward their Volunteer Fee). Parents of athletes attending the meet may want to help out by volunteering to help at 1 or more events.

Additional Information

This is a High School Track and Field meet for British Columbia and Alberta high school athletes. It will follow the BC High School Sports Track and Field standards and will be sanctioned by BC School Sports and BC Athletics. Athletes will be charged a $5 Administration fee to help  support the increasing costs of facilities, and equipment.

The entry fee is $30 per student (max) if registered by the Regular Deadline. Athletes may enter up to 3 individual events plus two relays. It is recommended to register relays at the meet unless you know that all 4 or 5 athletes will be attending the meet. NOTE** All relay team members must be registered in the meet in order to compete. They can be members of other schools if a school doesn't have enough athletes to form a relay team (the team will be entered as Unattached).

All athletes compete for their school (EXCEPTION - Relays). Please enter all athletes from one school through a team coach, and make one payment per team. When indicating your team, please check to see if your school is already in the Trackie database and if not, choose a 4-letter abbreviation to go along with your school name, usually the 1st 4 letters of the school name (ie. South Kamloops Secondary - SOUT).

Please ensure that the school name is entered if using the BCA/AC membership number as it will default to their club name. Simply delete that Team name and type in the School name.
